Will The EPA Pass The “Don’t Let the Bedbugs Bite Act?”

Wednesday, April 15th, 2009

As most of us know, bed bugs are a real threat. They inhabit hotel rooms, bed rooms, dorm rooms and anywhere else you may sleep. The Environmental Protection Agency knows this. Controlling Bed Bugs is a long process and can get pricey. Another factor to take into consideration is the pesticides that are used to control bed bugs. Some of the most effective pesticides are not permitted to be used as they could potentially pose a threat to some people.

The United States notices an increase when there is an increase in international travel. Travelers sleep in cheap hotels and bed bugs hop in their luggage. When the Americas come back to their home, they now have infected their bed room, which can also infect their entire house. Bed bugs feed off human blood, and can transmit a number of diseases.

The Environmental Protection Agency realizes that there is a problem here in the United States with bed bugs. A congressmen fro North Carilona has plans to inrtroduce the act. This act will help Americans deal with bed bugs in many ways.

First, they would offer financial help to families that cannot afford to eliminate their bed bugs problems. Also, they would allow the EPA to release certain pesticides for “emercency use.” This would assist pest control companies in controling bed busg when there is a natiowide boost of bed bug infestations.

The Associated Press first wrote about this bill.

We here at Intelligent Pest Solutions will keep you updated on any developments about this bill that will be introduced to congress.
