Bumble Bees
- Appearance:
1/4"-1" Black and yellow. Two wings, has fuzzy appearance. - Behavior:
Usually appear in late summer. The queen plants her eggs in the spring. Typically only the queen is able to survive over the winter, and lives underground. - Habitat:
Bumble Bees live in nests and colonies. The average nest temperature is 85 degrees Fahrenheit, making the nests mostly appear in very warm areas, also in direct sunlight. - Tips For Control:
Bumble Bees are beneficial to the environment because they pollinate many different flowers. If their nesting area is near a recreational area, the area must be treated. Just like other bees, they must be located in the day time, and treated at night. Days after the treatment it must be monitored to ensure elimination.
