Yellow Jackets

- Appearance:
3/8" to 5/8" long, usually yellow and black. Two antennae, wings fold length-wise. - Habitat:
Yellow Jackets are found extensively throughout the entire United States. In total there ate 16 different species in existence here in the United States. Yellow jackets nest nearly anywhere from shrubs, bushes, outside homes(usually near gutters) and they can even nest inside your sheet rock walls! - Tips For Control:
Though Yellow Jackets are good for our environment, they pose a threat to our health. If a Yellow Jacket nest is located too close to a building, house or park, the nest must be removed. The best time for treatment is at night, with a bee-suit being worn by the person removing the nest. Several call-back appointments should be made to ensure the nest will not be rebuilt. While the nest is being removed no bystanders should be near by as these Yellow Jackets will swarm everything and everyone when their home is being destroyed!
